  • KY License
  • 2 years of acute care RN experience

  • NIHRequired Skills:-- IV insertion-- Blood draws-- PICC/Central Line management:-- Dialysis Fistula: Will not access, but should be comfortable assessing-- A-line management-- Obtain 12 lead EKG-- Cardioversion/defibrillation-- Procedural sedation-- CPAP/BiPAP-- Ventilators-- Trach Care-- Traction: Should be comfortable with basic traction splints and assessing pulses. No advanced traction such as Buck's or skeletal-- Continuous bladder irrigation-- Other skills needed: Should be capable of caring for pediatric patients, overdose, initial Stroke and STEMI care, lab value interpretation, and comfort and compassion caring for socioeconomically disadvantaged patients.Other Details:
    • # beds/procedures: 13 patient care rooms and 4 vertical chairs for lower acuity patients
    • Patient ratio: 4:1, variable up or down based on patient acuity
    • Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? Yes
    • Common equipment used: Alaris IV pumps, Hamilton ventilators, Epic documentation system
