  • Job Details
  • Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).
  • Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS.
  • IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour.
  • First Time Travelers Accepted
  • Skillset Requirements/Preferences: Minimum 2 Years of Experience; Level 1 Trauma Experience Preferred
  • Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6
  • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
  • Unit Information: 3 North is a medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care of colorectal surgery patients.
  • We do care for patients who need negative-airflow rooms, so candidates must be fit-tested for an N95 mask or trained on how to use a PAPR device for care of these patients.

    • Level 1 Trauma Experience Preferred
    • Candidates must be fit-tested for an N95 mask or trained on how to use a PAPR device

      • Schedule Information
      • Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
      • Call-Ins: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period if a 0.9 FTE, or if unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract; if a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
      • Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
      • Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
